“Without Fear” depicts a bird surrounded by black and white branches covered in thorns, a setting that symbolises the wounds, obstacles, and invisible struggles the soul often endures. Even with its wings wounded, the bird continues to sing, keeping its longing for freedom intact. The work speaks of the silent courage to carry on even amidst pain. The thorns represent fears, limitations, and invisible chains that attempt to halt the inner flight, whilst the bird’s song becomes an act of resistance, hope, and transformation. The contrast between the dark and light branches reflects the duality of existence: fragility and strength, shadow and light, fear and freedom. Through this visual tension, the painting expresses the spirit’s capacity to
remain alive and luminous even in adverse circumstances.
