Turn to the Sun

“You are like the sunflower: always toward the clarity of the world” Pablo Neruda

Acrylic on canvas

“Turn to the Sun” arises from the contemplation of a yellow sunflower surrounded by blue-green leaves—a flower that, in its most essential nature, lives in a constant search for light. Its movement toward the sun becomes a profound metaphor for the human condition: just as the sunflower follows the clarity of the day, we also seek answers, meaning, hope, and truth. The work symbolizes the soul’s longing to find enlightenment amidst uncertainty. The intense yellow of the sunflower represents vital energy, consciousness, and spiritual warmth, while the blue-green tones of the leaves evoke balance, depth, and connection with the earth. In its silent gesture of orienting itself toward the sun, the flower expresses perseverance and faith. Each petal seems to open toward clarity, reminding us that even in moments of shadow, an inner force exists that drives us to continue seeking light.
