La Concupiscencia

“And I don’t know if I love you, but I desire you.” Luis Eduardo Aute

Acrylic on canvas

“Lust” arises from the intimate observation of a small red-and-violet pansy, whose chromatic intensity and delicate yellow centre evoke desire, attraction, and the mystery of natural seduction. Though tiny in reality, the artwork presents it on a grand scale, revealing a hidden universe of sensuality and depth. The flower opens symbolically to the love of insects and to the contemplation of the gaze, becoming a meeting place between nature and desire. Its vibrant petals express passion and vulnerability at once, while the luminous centre acts as an irresistible call toward life and union. Through this monumental enlargement, the painting invites you to discover the greatness that dwells in the small and to contemplate the secret sensuality of natural forms. The pansy ceases to be merely a flower and becomes a symbol of attraction, fertility, and spiritual mystery.
